Green turtles nest at intervals of about every 2 years, with wide year-to-year fluctuations in numbers of nesting females. Nests between 3 to 5 times per season. Lays an average of 115 eggs in each nest, with the eggs incubating for about 60 days. Last weekend at Klein Curaça we were so luck to witness the hatching of 90 little turtles with Sea Turtle Conservation Curacao. It's estimated that only 1 in 1,000 hatchlings will survive to adulthood; Birds, lizards, and fish are just a few of the predators these vulnerable creatures face here in Curacao, but with the help of volunteers at least they all made it to the Ocean! photos by #turtleandrayproductions #greenturtle #hatching #marineturtles #seaturtleconservationcuracao ...
